When my son was diagnosed with autism in l996, no one was talking about autism the way we are today.  Autism was rare.  At the time, I didn't own a computer and the internet was just surfacing, so I looked up autism the old-fashioned way.  I headed down to my town library where I looked up autism in an antiquated encyclopedia.  According to book, my son's future was less than bright.  From that day forward, I have dedicated my life to making sure my son's future would and could be bright!

I'm no different than any other parent who wants the best for their child.  And it shouldn't be any different if your child has an autism spectrum disorder or any other disability.  Like I do, I know that as a parent of a child with an autism spectrum disorder, you want the same good information as parents dealing with children who have typical issues.

However, you're probably aware that not all typical advice on television relates to your child, teenager, young adult or other family member living with autism or other disabilities.  That's why I appear regularly on network affiliate news stations and other programs covering the topics that matter to me and other families living with autism and other developmental disabilities.

I hope some of the issues that I cover matter to you!
